Redline was started in 1983 by Marguerite Wells. there have been 4 directors of the redline: Marguerite Wells, 1983 - 1993; Bette Shoptaw, 1993 - 1999; Patty Gaddis, 1999 - 2003; Tiffany Beck, 2003 - present. the redline is a drill team that performs during halftime at football games and basketball games; they started competing at the regional and state level in 2004. the redline performs at various special events and participates in community events such as Race for the Cure, Mistletoe Fair and the American Heart Association Heart Walk. in 2004, the redline won 2nd place in the ensemble competition at state. in 2005, the Redline won 2nd place in the military category for the 5A division and won the state championship title for high kick in the 5A division. in January 2006, the redline competed at the Gussie Nell Davis Dance Classic on the Kilgore college campus in Kilgore, Texas. they won 11 awards including best in class for small team and the sportsmanship award. they scored higher than any other team at the competition. because of the awards the team won at the Kilgore competition, the team has been invited to participate in the pre-game and halftime festivities for the 2007 Cotton Bowl.
